Rosie Lugosi

Bio

Gory Gory Alleluia!  It’s Rosie Lugosi the Vampire Queen!

Lock up your daughters, hold on to your hats and keep your hand on your jewels… prepare yourself for the Vampire Queen, Rosie Lugosi!

Her performances combine Terror with a dash of Tease, Glamour with more than a hint of Hellfire.   There’ll be twisted tunes, killer curves and killer fangs, hisses and kisses.

Be prepared for thrilling retro high camp kink entertainment as she cracks the whip, making sure that everyone is sitting uncomfortably…

So give a warm hand – and throat – to the boot-stomping, whip-cracking, neck-biting, out-all-nighting, tongue-lashing, nail-slashing, Rosie Lugosi!

Rosie Lugosi is a mistress of musical mayhem – one of the UK’s most in-demand comperes, and certainly the kinkiest.   She has appeared throughout the UK as well as Europe, Ireland, Edinburgh and the USA.

Winner of the Dada Award for Performance Artist of the Year and proud owner of an Erotic Oscar for Solo Performer, she has won both the Diva Award for Solo Performer, and the Lambda Short Story Award.

Rosie is also an electrifying comic cabaret singer.  She has been tantalising audiences with her unique blend of poetic perversion, camp humour, mayhem and song for ten years, performing twisted parodies of Andy Williams, Shirley Bassey and Gloria Gaynor (to name a few poor victims) in a vamp-goth-fetish style.

Rosie has an eclectic writing and performance history, ranging from singing in 80s Goth band The March Violets, to her current incarnation as Rosie Lugosi the Vampire Queen.  She has four solo collections of poetry: Hell and Eden, Coming Out At Night, Creatures of the Night and the latest, Things I Did While I was Dead, which is available from Flapjack Press.  Her award-winning short stories, poems and essays have been widely anthologised.  Mapping the Interior, her first novel, is currently with an agent.

She made her New York debut in 2007 at Don’t Tell Mama, where Time Out New York dubbed her ‘The English undead lesbian singer-comic icon’, and is returning in 2010 by popular request!

She has performed at prestigious venues ranging from stadium events such as Europride, The Skin Two Ball, The Skin Tech Tattoo Convention, Kinkfest and The Dallas Butch-Femme Bash to down-and-dirty clubs and events such as 12 Galaxies (San Francisco), Queer Up North (Manchester), The Empty Bottle (Chicago), Schmacht! (Berlin), Newcastle Comedy Festival, and The Skin Two Ball.

She was proud to be featured in Del LaGrace Volcano’s book Femmes of Power.
